BLUE HILL AND BANGOR - Julia Treworgy Hinckley, 99, died Dec. 24, 2003, at Brewer. She was born in Surry, Sept. 6, 1904, the daughter of Solomon J. and Ida Wardwell Treworgy. Julia was a good, faithful, and generous friend to all who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed doing kind things. She was employed for many years by the Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. in Ellsworth and Bangor as a secretary. She had been a member of the United Baptist Church in Ellsworth, and the Columbia Street Baptist Church in Bangor. She had also been an active member of the Blue Hill Baptist Church and served as superintendent of the Sunday school for 15 years. She was a choir member in all three churches and also served as a church clerk or Sunday school teacher in each church. She was predeceased by her husband, Thayer L. Hinckley of Blue Hill; and by four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three nephews and their spouses, C. Edwin Treworgy and his wife, Ethelyn, of Milo, Donald L. Treworgy and his wife, Lynn, of Noank, Conn., Alan J. Treworgy and his wife, Cecilia, of Lewiston; one niece, Lois Treworgy Leckey and her companion, Kenneth Massar, of Etna; several grandnephews and nieces; great-great-nephews and nieces; and by a stepson, Thayer C. Hinckley and his companion, Angela Sager, of La Belle, Fla. At Julia's request, graveside services will be held in the spring. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Blue Hill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 836, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
