Her parents were allegedly Giles and Hannah (Dunham) Rickard. Hannah was born about 1634 in Plymouth and Giles was born before 1637 in England.

[Her grandfather] GILES, Plymouth, freem[an]. 1637, had first w[ife]. Judith, wh[o]. d[ied]. 6 Feb. and m[arried]. 20 May 1662, for 2d w[ife]. Joan Tilson, but had s[ons]. Giles and John, perhaps Sarah (wh[o]. m[arried]. 1657, as is said, George Paddock), all by former, and m[arried]. 3d w[ife]. 25 June 1669, Hannah, wid[ow]. of John Churchill, d[aughter]. of William Pontus; d[ied]. 1684, aged 87; and his wid[ow]. d[ied]. 12 Dec. 169

[Her father] GILES, Plymouth, s[on]. of the preced[ing]. m[arried]. 31 Oct. 1651, Hannah Dunham, perhaps d[aughter]. of the first John, had John, b[orn]. the next y[ea]r. day and mo[ther]. lost from the rec[ords].; Samuel 14 Jan. 1663.
