JOSEPH LOCKWOOD BUTT was born on 19 Jan 1926 at Illinois. He appeared on the census of 1930 at 834 E 88th St, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

In the 1970s at least, several Butt siblings lived near one another in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Francelia and brother Joseph lived together and next door to brother Walter. Sister Harriett lived a couple blocks down the street.

He worked as a Railroad worker. Sis died in 1981 and Joe lived alone in the house until he married.

He married IDA VIRGINIA SCHOEFFNER in Oct 1985 at the age of 59. Joe was married late in life and had no children. However, he was very important to his nephews Ed & Butch Jones (sons of his sister Harriet) after their father died.

He died on 12 Feb 2001 at Cook County, Illinois, at age 75. He was buried in Cedar Park Cemetery on 16 Feb 2001 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
