-Source:Southold town records, 1651-1787, p. 2:479-80, has deed dated 20 Feb 1718/19, from "David Corye of Southold, yeoman" to "my brother Jonathan Corye of the said Town, cordwinder" of various parcels of land. This is accompanied by the following note by compiler Joseph Wickham Case: "David Corey, Sheriff, on the death of his father, Isaac, became possessed of nearly all his large landed estate, and felt it a duty and perhaps a pleasure to ignore the law of inheritance, and bestow at least a part of his land upon his brother Jonathan and other kindred."
