LACONA
John Vincent, a former resident of Lacona died at a nursing home in Des Moines Wednesday morning. though he had been in failing health he had reached the age of 80. He is survived by four daughters, Lula of California, Lena of Knoxville and Edna and Bonnie of Des Moines. His wife preceded him in death. Funeral service were held Friday at the Methodist church in Lacona conducted by Elder Holmes of Newton.

OBITUARY
JOHN W. VINCENT
John W. Vincent, son of William and Julieann Vincent, was born in Cedar county, May 10, 1866. He was the youngest of 14 children.
At the age of 10 years he moved with his parents to Warren county near Liberty Center, where he grew to manhood.
He was united in marriage to Martha L. Lake. To this union were born: Mrs. O. E. Peterson, Los Angeles; Mrs. George Bullis, Knoxville; Mrs. J. V. Mandia and Mrs. F. R. Johnson, Des Moines.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren to mourn the passing of a devoted father and grandfather, and many dear friends , who will miss his fatherly council.
He united with the Primitive Baptist church in early manhood, and remained a devoted and loyal member and elder as long as he was able to attend his church. The church will miss his presence with them just as they have since he had been unable to be with them the past few years on account of his health.
