- Patton, John - born 2/14/1755 in Augusta County, Virginia; entered service York District, South Carolina, resided there, in South Carolina Regiment; moved after Revolutionary War to Lincoln County, North Carolina, thence 1805 to Wilson County, Tennessee, the 1808 to Bedford County, Tennessee where received Pension 1832; died 2/28/1838; married 1/19/1785 to Mary Wilson, Lincoln County, North Carolina, who was born 9/16/1764; widow received Pension 1838 in Bedford County, Tennessee; children's births: Jean Davis 10/9/1785, James 9/19/1787, Margaret 4/10/1790, John Jr. 10/10/1792, David 3/15/1795, Joseph Wilson 10/10/1797, Betsy Barry 11/20/1799, Polly McKisick 4/7/1802, & Martha W. 3/2/1806; widow's brother Captain James Wilson died abt. 1818 Rutherford County, Tennessee; widow living 1841 in Shelbyville, Tennessee; query letter in file 1931 by U.S. congressman from Georgia requesting data for soldier's descendant Samuel Nesbitt Evans of Atlanta, Georgia.
