Rev. Henry C. Schneider Conducts Services for Carroll Man Funeral rites for John Olerich were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home at 1203 north Main street, and were conducted by the Rev. Henry C. Schneider, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. A quartet consisting of Miss Vivian Kivits, Miss Aimee Hodge, Clyde M. Bayliss and Smith Thomas, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Now the Day is Over." They were accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Holley. Burial was in the city cemetery in the Olerich lot by the side of his wife who died last August. Relatives present at the funeral were Joe Olerich, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Olerich, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Olerich, Mrs. Frank Olerich, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Olerich, Mrs. A.L. Wand, Art Olerich, Mr. and Mrs. Will Ricke, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Ricke, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ricke, Mr. and Mrs. John Ricke, Mr. and Mrs. George Ricke, Roy Ricke and Will Geocke, all of Breda. Mr. and Mrs. John Coon of Early, Mr. and Mrs. Bock of Tcmpleton. John Olerich, Early Settler, Dies Suddenly

Pioneer Resident of County Succumbs After Short Illness Funeral Services to Be Held at Home in Carroll Thursday

John Olerich, one of the early settlers of Carroll county, died yesterday afternoon at 2:50 in his home on north Main street after a short illness that lasted only a week. Mr. Olerich was taken ill a week ago today, but was hot considered in a serious condition until yesterday morning. Death was the result of pneumonia. He was 73 years old.

Funeral services will be held in the home at 1203 North Main street at 2 o'clock Thursday and services will be conducted by the Rev. Henry C. Schneider, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial will be in the city cemetery by the side of his wife and the pall bearers, who have been selected are six grandchildren: Clarence, Ernest, Leo, Archie, Frank and Clifford Olerich..

Born In 1857 John Olerich was born a t Hazel Green, Wis., Dec. 41, 1857. At the age of 12 be moved with his parents to Kniest township three and one half miles north of Mount Carmel and when 2 years old removed to Breda, where he followed the trade of a carpenter for several years.

He was united in marriage May 8, 1883 to Kathryn Schachtner at Breda and they continued to live in that town until 1887 when they mooved to the old Olerich Homestead and lived there until April 1913. That year they purchased the present home on north Main street In Carroll, where they expected to spend the remaining years of their lives in comfort and enjoy the fruits of the labor.

His beloved wife Kathryn died Aug. 12, 1930 after an illness of several years. He leaves ten children�five sons and five daughters �Frank Olerich of Sheridan township; Mrs. Henry Koppelman of Auburn: William Olerich of Breda; Robert Olerich of Auburn; Otto Olerich of Carroll; Earl Olerich-of Breda; Mrs. Ed O'Toole of Auburn: Mrs. J. A. Kennard of Des Moines, Miss Lillian Olerich, who has been at home giving loving care to her parents for several years, and Mrs. Floyd Hackett of Yetter.

Are Many Survivers

He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Olerich of Breda and a sister, Mrs. Anna Swanson of Lead, S. D. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Olerich was a man of high ideals; honest and upright in all his dealings and believed firmly in the "golden rule." Since his ' retirement he enjoyed his daily walk down town for a visit with his many friends. He had always had the best of health and never had to call a doctor until he was past 70 years of age at which time he had his first real illness. The end came while he was reposing in peaceful sleep, surrounded by members of his family, and it was a shock to them and his friends.

Robert Olerich of Auburn has been seriously ill with pneumonia and will be unable to attend the funeral.
