Burial

There is disagreement as to where John Kritz is buried. According to the Official Roster, he is buried in Linden Grove Cemetery, section B, grave 28. However, the [Sons of Union Veterans Grave Registration Database] lists him (as John Kratz) as being buried in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois in section SC, lot 177. The Dept. of Veterans Affairs Nationwide Gravesite Locator lists a Jno. Kratz with the same date of death as being buried in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Kentucky, in section G, lot 1771.

Some soldiers originally buried in Linden Grove were moved to national cemeteries, including Camp Nelson. More investigation needs to be done to determine where John Kritz is buried.
