    JESSE A. GAVIT

    Services for Jesse A. Gavit, 71, a retired fur buyer and former resident
    of Lake Odessa and Grand Ledge, who was dead on arrival at the Morton
    Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL, Friday night, February 7, were held
    Tuesday, February 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens Koops Funeral Chapel,
    Lake Odessa. Rev. Gary Evans officiated and burial was in Lakeside
    cemetery.

    He was born in Barry County July 17, 1903, the son of William and Inez
    (Meyers) (sic) Gavit. He was a fur buyer from 1944-1956 while he lived
    in Lake Odessa and retired due to his health at the age of 57.

    He married Ethel M. Hansbarger April 19, 1924. They lived in Florida
    the past 15 years, spending several weeks in the summer in the local
    area.

    Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Milbern (June) Harton of Grand
    Ledge; two grandchildren; a great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Velma
    Davis of Brandon, FL.
