- Note: in his article on "William Bassett", p. 130, Source:Anderson, Robert Charles. Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1633 notes that Source:Lowell, Daniel Ozro Smith. Munsey-Hopkins Genealogy names Jane Bassett as a 7th child to the family of William Bassett and shows her marrying Thomas Gilbert, but Anderson rejects this, apparently finding no evidence for such a daughter, and suggesting this is probably a misreading of the marriage record of Thomas Gilbert and Jane Rossiter, married 13 Mar 1639/40 (see for example, MD, p. 13:85).
