James Bentman was baptised on 20th September 1685 at Shillington in Bedfordshire, son of Mary Bentman, formerly Kitchener, and her husband John Bentman. Sadly, James died as a baby, being buried less than six weeks after his baptism. His parents named their next son James in 1689.
