    Mrs. Irene F. Overton, age 89, of Newton, Kan., born in Kansas City, died Thursday [26 March 1981] at a nursing home in Newton. She lived in the Kansas City area most of her life, moved to Newton in 1977.

    Survived by son, Herbert L. Overton (Newton); son, Norbey A. Overton (Plainwell, Mich.); daughter, Mrs. Helen L. Higgins (Olathe); 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

    Visitation 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday [29 March 1981] at the Muehlebach Chapel. Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday [30 March 1981] at the chapel. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City.
