Hugh Roberts (eldest son of Hugh Roberts) served with the 21st Kings Regiment Liverpool during the First World War. At some point he moved from Liverpool to London where he became a successful advertising agent. He changed his name to Hugh Robert Markham and his marriage certificate shows this as an 'otherwise' name. He died in 1946 at the age of 54 from liver failure.
