"Hiram Janes married in 1813 Hannah Andrus (Andrews) and lived with his young family at South Hero, Vermont till 1816 when he moved from the place of his nativity to Wolcott, Wayne County, New York. He again moved to Clarkson, Monroe County, New York. He was the honored father of a large and affectionate family. In 1838, the western fever took him and his family to Johnstown, Rock County, Wisconsin where he died." (S1)
