Co., Quarterly Ct., 16 Aug 1796: Samuel HALL and Thomas HALL against James HALL, Happy CHANDLER, Jemima HALL, George CHANDLER and Susanna his wife late Susanna HALL, and Polly MASSAY an infant under 21 by Elizabeth MASSAY her gdn. Specially appointed to defend her interest, upon a petition that the interest of the several parties aforesaid in the lands in the sd. Petition, should in place of a division to be preserved to them by an entire sale of the same... It appearing to the court that William HALL late of this co., father of the sd. Samuel HALL, Thomas HALL, James HALL, Happy CHANDLER, Jemima HALL, Susanna CHANDLER wife of George CHANDLER, and Polly MASSAY, departed this life intestate [entitled] at the time of his death to 120 ac. Of land lying in this co. subject to distribution among the parties aforesaid, that each distributor's share in sd. Lands will not exceed $100, and it further appearing that the sd. James HALL and Happy CHANDLER are not inhabitants of this state (VGGA, 1 Mar 97)
