    Gus Shank Richardson, 87, of Danville, passed away at 5:59 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Provena USMC in Danville.

    He was born Sept. 27, 1922 in Danville, Il. to Joseph Christopher and Rachel Shank Richardson. He married Dorothy L. Meeker on Aug. 4, 1945 in Hagerstown, Md. She survives.

    He also is survived by his children, Gayle (Clark) Smith, Dave (Lisa) Richardson, Sue (Harold "Butch") Cassidy and Jane (Dave) Bernthal; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; four sisters; a granddaughter, Lindsey; a grandson, Hunter and a son-in-law, Paul Remlinger.

    He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
