Gilbert T. Rife
Gilbert T. Rife, age 80, of Canton, died Monday evening June 1, 1998, in
the Arbor’s Nursing Home. Born August 26, 1917, in Canton, OH, to the late
Thomas and Alma (Roden) Rife. Gilbert graduated from McKinley High School
in 1935. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and retired from the
Republic Steel Corporation as a tool and die maker. Survived by his wife,
Bernice M. (Brandenburg) Rife with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage;
a daughter, Marcia Martino; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Linda Rife;
and three granddaughters, Tara and Wendy Martino and Jennifer Rife all of
North Canton; sister, Lois Saus of Alliance; and two brothers, Thomas Rife
of Brooksville, FL, and Fred Rife of North Canton. Services will be held
Friday, June 5th, at 11 a.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home. Calling hours are
Thursday 6-8 p.m. Following the services cremation will take place.
