1775: Ezekiel with his brother Jeremiah marched to the Alarm at Lexington on April 19 as Privates in Capt. Benjamin Ames' Company, Col. James Frye's Mass. Regiment. In the abstract of return of men who sustained losses in the Battle of Charlestown (Bunker Hill), dated Cambridge, 19 June 1775, order for bounty coat, dated Cambridge, 14 November 1775. 1780: Entered service on July 10 as a Sergeant in Capt. John Abbot's Company, Col. Nathaniel Wade's Regiment, enlisting 3 days preceding the march. He was discharged 10 October 1780, service 3 months 11 days at West Point. -William Wardwell of Andover, Massachusetts with an Informal Collection of His Descendants through the 8th Generation. Marjorie Wardwell Otten Ezekiel, born 1750, was 25 years of age when war broke out. He was a minute man under Capt. Ben. Ames and Col. Frye from Andover, seven days, in camp at Cambridge, May 17, 1775; also acted as Guard under Lieut. Col. L. Baldwin, and June 22, 1775 as a Sergeant (Vol. 58, p. 32.) He was in the battle of Charlestown, June 17, 1775, with Capt. Ben. Ames, (Vol. 32, p. 172). He had a bounty coat payable to Lieut. David Chandler, Nov. 14, 1775; at Cambridge, also served 1st Sergeant with Capt. John Abbott, July 10, to Oct. 10, 1780. He served three months one day with 220 miles travel. He also served at West Point, three days travel, the regiment serving three months. He lived to be 84 years old. -Antecedents of Solomon Wardwell Elizabeth Wardwell Stay 1790 Census shows him in Andover with 3 males over 16, 4 males under 16 and 3 females in his household Became a member of Andover South Church 07 August 1791. The Massachusetts and Maine 1798 Direct Tax lists him with property in the South Parish. 1800 census for Andover shows 1 male under 10, 1 16-25 and 2 over 45. It shows 1 female under 10, 1 16-25 and 2 over 45. References
