"Obituary, Everett Johnson Dies At Age 78," 6/25/1969., 18 Mar 2009.
Ernest J. Johnson, 83, who had been making his home in Nashua for the past three years, died at a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after a long illness. He was born in Westfield, NS, May 10, 1866, son of the late James Johnson and Mathilda (Wamboldt) Johnson. He was a resident of Reed's Ferry since 1891 and came to this city three years ago. He made his home with his daughters, Mrs Edwin Gowing and Mrs David Doray. Mr Johnson was a past noble grand of Souhegan lodge, No. 89, IOOF, in Reed's Ferry, and was a 50-year member. Survivors include three sons, Everett E. And Arthur S. Johnson of this city and Irving E. Johnson of Merrimac, Mass; three daughters, Mrs Gowing and Mrs Doray of Nashua, and Mrs Walter Stoddard of Elkland, Pa; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Avery Johnson of Petersham, Mass; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Fisk funeral home in Merrimack Thursday from 7 to 8 pm. Friends are requested to omit flowers.

Captures Youth in his Store Johnson's Late Visit Stops Robbery Everett E. Johnson of Johnson's Electric shop, caught a 16-year-old boy in his store just before 11 o'clock last evening. According to police the boy had gained entrance through a rear window and when captured was picking up several articles in the store. Mr. Johnson went to the store just before 11 and was driving in the rear when the headlights from his automobile revealed someone in the store. Mr. Johnson sut off the lights and stopped his car immediately. He went in the rear door and as he did so he saw someone duck behind an electric refrigerator. Securing a gun from the office Mr. Johnson covered the youth then called police. Officers took the boy to the station where he was held for questioning.
- ↑ The publisher of the Telegraph was notified this morning through Everett Johnson of Johnson's Electric Shop. Nashua's Westinghouse agents that this gift was to be made. The range was quickly uncrated, sent over to the lobby of the Tremont theater and was an object of admiration to the many hundreds of Nashua women who turned out this morning for the second day of the Telegraph's cooking school.

- ↑ A still alarm at 5:25 pm yesterday brought men from Central and Amherst st stations to Bennett st for a rubbish fire on property owned by Everett Johnson. The blaze was extinquished in 20 minutes.
- ↑ Everett stipulates, in his will, that his house is to go to his three daughters in equal shares, his camp at Lake Winnapausaukee to his five children in equal shares, his grandfather clock to his grandson, Greg, and a table & mirror to his daughter, Marjorie. The remainder of his estate to be administered by his trustees, Dorothy and Marjorie, and an amount paid quarterly to his wife, Eloise, for her support. The residue, upon her death to be divided equally among the five children according to regulations of the state of New Hampshire. This does not appear to be what was done. It appears that the house was sold and that, along with investments were divided equally among the five children after giving $25,000 to the widow.

Everett E. Johnson, 78, of 5 Bennett St., treasurer of Johnson's Electric Supply, Inc., died in a local hospital Saturday after a long illness. He operated an electric supply and service center on Main Street since 1912, previously having been associated with Public Service Company. He was a member of the Nashua Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Merchants Association. Johnson's Electric Supply at 209 Main Street, which he founded, is operated by his son, Ernest G. Johnson. He was born in this city Oct. 13, 1890, son of Ernest J. and Lillian (Teed) Johnson. During his early years he lived in Reed's Ferry where he graduated from McGaw Institute. Fraternally, he was a 50-year member of Granite Lodge IOOF; a member of Rising Sun Lodge F.&A.M., all Scottish Rite Bodies, the N.H. Consistory, and Bektash Temple, Order of Shrine. He was a member of the First Church of Nashua. Members of his family include his wife, Mrs. Eloise (Barlow) Johnson; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Davis of Amherst, Mrs. Leo (Marjorie) Champagne of this city and Mrs. Raymond (Carolyn) Baron of Exeter; two sons, Ernest G. Johnson, of this city and Everett E. Johnson, Jr. of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; 30 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Myrtle)Stoddard of Elkland, Pa., Mrs. David (Viola) Doray and Mrs. Edwin (Inez) Gowing, both of this city; a brother, Irving E. Johnson of Kingston, several nephews and nieces. The Farwell Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Serving as bearers were Herbert Canfield, Edward Parker and Arthur Burgess of Granite Lodge, I.O.O.F.; Perley E. Fletcher, Myron P. Robie and Roger Gaskill representing Rising Sun Lodge F.& A.M. Committal service was conducted at the family lot in Edgewood Cemetery. Odd Fellow and Masonic memorial rites were conducted Tuesday evening by Granite Lodge and Rising Sun Lodge.

EVERETT E. JOHNSON JR., a wll respected businessman, died here last month at the age of 78. He was the founder of Johnson's Electrical Supply Inc., more than a half-century ago. A responsible citizen, he was active in the Masons and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and in municipal affairs. We went to high school with one of his sons, Ernest, who is associated with the electrical firm. And in Nashua for the last rites was a son, Everett E. Jr., who with his family lives in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. and was accompanied by two of his sons. Everett Jr., and his family were our neighbors for about a decade, and they were good ones.
