Per family oral history, Elmer Morris was an immigrant from Ireland, who was wanted by Irish authorities. He went by Henry. He abandoned his wife and child at date unknown. Of course, this is in conflict with babby Morris's birth record, which says that Elmer was born in the USA. We do not know which is correct. Marriage cert has Elmer D Morris, family oral history has Elmer Henry Morris. Birth record of Baby Morris has Dad's birth year of 1861. Marr cert has birth year of 1866. Delayed birth cert of Harry Morris has dad born 1870.
