He owned hunting land in Campbell Co., VA. In 1782 he sold to Benj. Johnson 274 acres of his land in Orange Co. He died in 1791 while hunting with a party of friends who had stopped to rest at a spring near old Shiloh Church (Campbell Co.) which stood near Lynch’s station; when the others started again they missed Edward and returned to their halting place. They found that he had expired. His will is recorded in Rustburg and names his children.
