Facts and Events
David MCLEAN was b. abt 1842 at Antrim (census). David had a daughter Elisabeth who married J.B. Wallace (family letters). In 1871 the following were with Barbara Morrison (or Barbara McLean, as given in brackets in ancestry.com) (1802 Perthshire, annuitant lodging) at Henderson House, Logie, Perthshire: David McLean (aged 39, Ireland, lodger, accant and toock maker, or accountant and stock broker), daughter Elizabeth Ann (1870 Glasgow), Elizabeth McLean (1806 Glasgow, wife of accountant), sister Agnes (1829, Paisley, daughter of accountant), brother Ellwyn (1843 Ireland, divinity student) (census); the age of David should presumably be 29. In 1881 William McLean (1803 Paisley, retd accountant, stockbroker), wife Elizabeth Richardson (1806 Glasgow), children (b. Paisley), Agnes (1828), Barbra (1830), granddaughter Elizabeth A. McLean (1870 Glasgow) and 2 servants were at 10 “Sumerset” Pl., Barony (census). In 1891 William Maclean (1803 Paisley, retd accountant), children Margaret (1834 Paisley), David (1842 Ireland, CA), granddaughter Elizabeth Ann (1870 Glasgow, daughter of David), were at 10 Somerset Pl., Glasgow (census). In 1891 William Maclean (1803 Paisley, retd accountant), children Margaret (1834 Paisley), David (1842 Ireland, CA), granddaughter Elizabeth Ann (1870 Glasgow, daughter of David), were at 10 Somerset Pl., Glasgow (census). This may be David: In 1891 William MacLean, jun., stockbroker, of W. and D. MacLean and Paton, accountants and stockbrokers, 98 W. George St., Glasgow, possibly with David M’Lean, CA, 10 Somerset Pl. (PO Directory). Presumably this David had a daughter Elizabeth Ann (b. 1870 Glasgow) (1891 census), possibly with Elizabeth Ann Paton (b. 1846, Edinburgh). References
