Early Land Acquisition in Augusta County, VA

Acquisition of Land from Chalkley's:


  • Page 212.--17th November, 1768. John Dickinson to David Martin, of Roan County, North Carolina, £205.12.0, 400 acres whereon John now lives, patented to Richard Fields, 16th August, 1730, James McDowell and Francis, of James City County.


Disposition of Land from Chalkley's:


  • Page 206.--27th September, 1785. Salathiel Martin, son and heir of David Martin, deceased, of Rowan County. North Carolina, to John Dickenson. Delivered to Nathaniel Crawford by Dickinson's order. Release of mortgage.
