If her age of 54 in the 1880 census is to be believed, she was born in about 1826 instead of 1821. The 1880 US Census at Otter Creek, Larue co. KY states that her mother and father were both born in VA. It also states that her occupation was "keeping house".

According to the Rhoton to Abshier letter of March 2003, the cemetery and church where Clerissa is buried is located at the east end of the County, south of the Rolling Fork River.
