CHARLES M'GUIRE Chas. McGuire passed away Monday morning, Oct. 14th, at 2 o'clock at his home five miles north of Almond, after a long illness. Mr. McGuire was born February 11, 1826, in Fermanagh, Ireland, and was therefore nearly 87 years of age. He came to the United States in 1855, settling in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1861 he moved to Montreal and in 1869 moved to Almond, this county, where he had lived ever since. Mr. McGuire was a boilermaker, having worked at this trade in this city, at Wilmington, Montreal, Panama and other places. He helped build Erickson's Monitor, one of the first ironclads ever constructed. He is survived by three children, Owen McGuire, Mrs. J. F. Smith and Mrs. C. J> Olson. The funeral was held from the Catholic Church at Almond, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. The pallbearers were Geo. Patterson, Geo.
