ALMOND An unusually high number of votes were cast Tuesday at the spring election in the village, 253 votes were polled. In the referendum, 182 votes were against the sale of intoxicating liquors in the village and 68 for it. . . 178 votes were cast in the Town of Rose. ALMOND Carl Zeller, who has been employed in Chicago for some time, is spending the week at his home here. SOURCE: WISCONSIN RAPIDS DAILY TRIBUNE; Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; November 11, 1941. CARL ZELLER Carl J. Zeller, 67, a Town of rose, Waushara County, farmer, died Monday morning at 10:50 o'clock at the Wild Rose Hospital following an illness of several months. He entered the hospital the last time a day before his death. Mr. Zeller was born July 30, 1900 in Chicago, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zeller. He continued to live in Chicago where he was a master plumber until marriage to Clara Olson in Almond on April 30, 1936. After their marriage the couple owned and operated a farm in the Rose township. Surviving are his wife, two daughter, Mrs. Ray (Pat) Hoffman of Upper Mt. Clair, N. J. and Miss Kay Zeller, Washington, D. C. A brother, Ralph Zeller, Chicago and a stepsister Mr. Helen Lennstrom in California. Mr. Zeller was a past clerk of the Town of Rose. He was a former member of a Knights of Columbus Council in Chicago. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at Guardian Angel Catholic church, Almond, with burial to follow in St. Martin's Cemetery, Almond (Town of Buena Vista). The Rev. Joseph Wahjewski will officiate. The body is at the Goult Patterson-Hardell Funeral Home, Almond, where friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
