Obituary

MECHANICSBURG – Betty Jane Kennedy, 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, in the Laurels of Norworth, Worthington, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of the late Harold and Myrtle (Gordon) Middleton.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School where she was a cheerleader for all four years. She was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church and a former member of the Caroline Chapter #39 of O.E.S.

She is survived by her son, Bob Kennedy; her sister, Sandy Coolbaugh; her niece, Shelley (David) Pfaub; her great nieces, Alexis & Alyssa Pfaub; and her cousin, Patsy Polito.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul R. Kennedy; her sister, Phyllis Ann Middleton; and her brother-in-law, Philip Coolbaugh.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 in the SKILLMAN, McDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, 257 W. Main St., Mechanicsburg, OH 43044. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, in the funeral home with Rev. Mimi Ault and Pastor Bob Burney officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
