Married about 1820 to Daniel W Townsend, who was a Major in the War of 1812.
They set up housekeeping in the home in which she died. There were 3 Townsend brothers, William, Daniel and Isaac who worked the 300 acre farm.
Mr and Mrs Townsend had 9 children 5 boys 4 girls; Isaac, William, George, Morgan, Daniel W, Maria, Deborah, Easter and Thankful.
The survivors are Maria, widow of Smith Northrup of Southeast, Deborah widow of Elvin Strang of Yorktown, and Morgan who has been confined to the rooms of the old homestead for a few years, sufferer of dementia.
