'There is a concrete marker at the foot of the original headstone which says Benjamin lived from 1775-1854. It may not be completely accurate.'

The original headstone is largely illegible. It is likely that he died 1834 rather than 1854, as there is an Elizabeth Spiller (probably his widow) as the head of a household in the 1840 census, and Benjamin cannot be found in the 1850 census of Illinois.
