Facts and Events
Ann Gray was baptised on 26th December 1748 at Heckington in Lincolnshire, daughter of Mary Gray, formerly Whitehead, and her husband John Gray, a farmer.
It seems quite likely that Ann was the Ann Gray who had an illegitimate son called Christopher at Heckington in 1785, with the father said to be a man called Edward Sandy. The baby died young.
Ann's mother died in 1788 and her father in 1790.
On 29th May 1802, aged 53, Ann married William Rasdale at Heckington. He was sixteen years her junior, and worked as a cordwainer and gardener.
William died at Heckington in 1820, aged 54.
Ann survived William by nineteen years. She died at Donington, about six miles south-east of Heckington, on 13th May 1839, aged 90. It was reported that she "retained her faculties to the last". She was buried back at Heckington.
