    Death of Mr. A. W. Howe at Rochester
    Another old resident has been removed from the Sault by death. On Thursday last, the late Mr. A. W. Howe, who for over twenty six years has been on the customs staff at this port went to Rochester, Minnesota, to consult doctors there in regard to his health, and word was received here Tuesday morning that he passed away Monday night his son, Robert being with him at the time of his death.
    Deceased had resided in the Sault for over forty six years and was well known throughout the district. In fraternal circles he was a member of the Sons of England, and at the time of his death was in his sixty eighth year.
    The lat Mr. Howe was also a member of St. Luke's Anglican church. He is survived by his widow, as well as four daughters, Mrs. T. D. Ross, at the canel; Mrs. R. A. Johnson of Chicago; Mrs. A. Lockhart, of Kitchener, Ont.; Mrs. H. W. Gardner, Arnprior; and two sons, Robert and George, both of whom reside in the Sault. Also a sister, Mrs. Geo. Webber, lives in Regina.
    The remains of the late A. W. Howe, who passed away Monday arrived in the city on the noon train today, and the funeral service is to be held in St. Luke's pro-Cathedral tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment being in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. W. S. G. Bunbury will officiate.
