Overview

This article is for the Alexander Porter who appears on the tax roll of Sadsbury Township, Chester County PA, in 1730. No family has yet been identified that could be connected to him. An Alexander Porter married an Elizabeth Culbertson sometime before 1762 when her father, Robert Culbertson, wrote his will, mentioning soninlaw Alexander Porter. Robert lived in Kennet Township, Chester County, and could conceivably be Alexander 8's fatherinlaw. Kinnet township, however, is adjacent to New Castle County DE, where another Alexander Porter (Alexander Porter (7)) was a miller and farmer. Robert also identifies four unmarried daughters, which suggests that they are relatively young. That in turn probably suggests that Elizabeth is also relatively young, which would probably NOT make her a suitable match for Alexander 8.
