- ↑ Alexander's death was registered by his 'big sister' Jane (who would have been 20). She gave her address as 4 Warrender Park Crescent. This would be in Edinburgh.
This has developed into a real sad tale. Their mother Jane died at 36 when Alexander was 13 months old and there were another 4 siblings between the age of 11 (Jane) and 3 (Thomas).
In the 1901 census their father William was living (without his family) with several other working men in a lodging house in Edinburgh. At the time of writing I do not know what became of the siblings other than my own grandfather who was Thomas.
