Margaret Hassett [4 June 2012]

My great grandmother was Margaret Hassett of Knockaclara Barefield Co Clare. The above John Hassett was her nephew. She was the daughter of Thomas Hassett and Bridget Griffin who married in 1845. I think Daniel Hassett (listed in the Griffiths Valuations) was her brother who remained in Ireland. Margaret, her brother Patrick and sister, Ellen emigrated to Australia. Margaret and Ellen arrived in Melbourne, Victoria in 1867 aboard the ship "Morning Light".

I hope the person who posted the information on John and Annie Hassett reads my comments, as we are probably related.
