From James Wakelee and Unknown (2): Two records for same marriage [10 March 2017]

Hi

It appears to me that this is the same marriage as the "other" first marriage of James Wakelee, where his wife is speculated to be Hannah Peat. If so, we should not have 2 separate family pages. It's been a while since I dug into this family, so I don't know if Torrey has strong evidence for stating that Wakelee's first wife was named Hannah and it is speculation that she was identical with Hannah Peat, or if her name is not known but she might have been Hannah Peat.

Can you please consolidate the 2 family pages as you see fit, to preserve the notation that Hannah Peat (who was known to have married a Wakelee) might have been his first wife (and thus the mother of Joseph). Or, if you are aware of speculation that he was married 3 times, can you provide the citation?

I'm still working through it, and am about ready to call it a night. Torrey is misleading since neither of the two sources he cited in his entry on James and Hannah actually mentions Hannah or any other woman. Given the respective ages of Jacob and James, I would lean toward James as Hannah's husband, but there seems to be no solid evidence either way.--Bill Carr 02:31, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
