↑ On August 8, 1821, Alexander Stewart’s youngest child, William Charlie Stewart, age twenty-one, married Mary (Polly) Crank, age seventeen. She was the daughter of James and Ellender Taylor Crank of Knox County. Mary and William would name their oldest son born in 1822 after Mary’s father, James.
