Family History

On 27 January, 3 and 10 February 1811 in the parish of Bardney, Lincolnshire, banns of marriage were published for William Overton and Jane Askew, both of the parish, and they were married in the parish by the vicar, John Wray, on 11 February 1811. The marriage was witnessed by John Pask and Benjamin Wheatley.[1]

The baptisms of their children appear in the parish records of Bardney. In the baptism records, William was said to be a carpenter or dealer in wood.[4]

In the 1841 U.K. census, William Overton (occ. carpenter), his wife Jane, and his children George and Rebecca were enumerated in the parish of Bardney, Lincolnshire.[2] In 1851, only William and Jane were enumerated in the household.[3]
