"… it appears that in at least two records the failure of the recorder to 'cross his tees' changed the name Hitt into Hill and arbitrarily created a Mary Hill daughter of Eliphalet and Ann Hill. There was indeed a Mary Hill, if the surname has been correctly read, who married Thomas Morehouse in Boston, but her parentage remains to be sought."
