Watertown Daily Times, p. 11, Thur. Nov 14, 1914 from Fultonhistory.com: Lieutenant Brokenshire on Recruiting Duty. Officer who married Watertown girl is stationed in Ottawa. Mrs. Melville C. Brokenshire, formerly Miss Madeline Counter, is in the city, spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Counter at their home in 125 William Street. Mrs. Brokenshire left the city last January for Toronto where she met and was married to Lieutenant Brokenshire of the Canadian overseas contingent. At that time her husband expected to be sent to France at any time with his regiment. Lieutenant Brokenshire has been transferred to recruiting services in Ottawa and Mrs. Brokenshire will join her husband there next week. |
