Jules' obituary reads, "GIRARDOT. Funeral services for Jules Girardot, 92, who died at 12:15 o'clock Wednesday noon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Louis Gladieux of 2928 Weisser Park avenue, will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock at St. Louis Catholic church at Besancon, Rev. Joseph Hessian officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the Gladieux residence at 10 o'clock this morning from Julian Schone's funeral home. The deceased would have celebrated his 93rd birthday today. Born in Vetra, France, he came to this country in 1935, and settled in Jefferson township, Allen county, where he resided until his retirement as a farmer. He was a member of St. Louis church. He is survived by 88 direct descendents, including two daughters, Mrs. Irene M. Kline of Jefferson township and Mrs. Gladieux; four sons, Edward L. of New Haven, and Clement P., Henry J. and William A. Girardot of Jefferson township; 45 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. A. J. Lanernier of this city." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Thursday 16 April 1936, pg. 11]
