"John1 Round … m., probably ca. 1665/8, possibly in England, Elizabeth … Elizabeth was apparently mother of all the children, since John's1 Will named her and son John2, 'with his mother,' as Executors; and John2 was probably at least the second child, if not the first. … There were at least eight children of John1 Round and Elizabeth _____, as listed in John's1 Will. Their order is uncertain and they are presented here in what seems a logical sequence. The suggested dates and order are based upon John's1 Will, known marriage dates, known data for their spouses and data on the births of their children. Possibly only the last two or three were born in America."

John Round "Married ---, 1669, Elizabeth, daughter of (?) William Chase of Yarmouth, Mass."
[Note: as noted in TAG, Vol. 54, p. 38, no evidence for this supposition, or the rest of this presentation, is given, nor has been found. The TAG article cites Source:Hodge, Harriet Woodbury. Hicks (Hix) Families of Rehoboth and Swansea, Massachusetts "states the wife of John Round who was born ca. 1646 was not the daughter of William Chase of Yarmouth", but does not give any indication of what the basis for this refutation is, or if there is one, and the cited work is under copyright and not available online. Source:Chase, Hazen P. Some Descendants of William Chase of Roxbury and Yarmouth, Mass, p. 50, says "Elizabeth, m. 27 May 1674 Daniel Baker, son of Francis and Isabel Baker of Yarmouth", but has no further details. A marriage record confirms the name Elizabeth Chase (Yarmouth VRs, p. 7), but there is no birth record for Elizabeth, or details from the probate for William Chase (i.e., here), so it appears her identification is based on matching the name.]

Source:Nichols, Nathan Round. Round, Rounds Genealogy, Descendants of John Round of Swansea, Massachussetts, p. 10, identifies wife as "Elizabeth". Will of John Round, given p. 194, but according to TAG, Vol. 54, p. 38, the transcription is missing one paragraph. Names wife Elizabeth.
