John and Monica had six children, four daughters and two sons.

Monica's obituary reads, "Monica T. O'Connor, 69, of Fort Wayne died Wednesday at home. The Fort Wayne native is survived by her husband, John C.; daughters, Maureen Beard of Warsaw, Margaret O'Connor of Fort Wayne, Kathleen Vachon of Roanoke and Angela Jackson of Cincinnati; sons, John C. Jr. of Zanesville and Thomas A. of Auburn; a brother, Adrian Gladieux of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Catholic Cemetery. Calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. A rosary is at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials are to the American Diabetes or Kidney foundations."
