Wife

The wife of John Moore is generally given as "Abigail," but in the records maintained by Matthew Grant she is always called "Deacon More's wife." In his listing of the children of Deacon John Moore, Grant at first omitted the daughter Abigail, and then placed her on a line above John Moore's name, which may have led some genealogist in the past to think that this was the name of his wife. (Great Migration Begins)

Children

John Moore's verbal will of 14 Sep 1677, identifies son John and four unnamed daughters. Manwaring identifies these four daughters as follows: Nathaniel Loomis and Elizabeth Moore were married 24 November, 1653. Thomas Bissell and Abigail Moore were married 11 October, 1655. (Recorded in Vol. of Lands, Sec. States OMce). (On W. R.) : Nathaniel Bissell and Mindwell Moore were Married 25 September, 1662. John Drake and Hannah Moore were Married 30 November, 1648.S1 There are but five heirs of Dea. John Moore alive on the date his will was made. On 6 Dec 1677, son John Moore and the 4 above named husbands appeared before court to declare their acceptance of the verbal will.
