The McAllister source says Mitchel was a "resident of Franfort Co, Kentucky ...and surveyor of Hampshire County Kentucky". I can find no record of Hampshire County Kentucky and believe this to be Hampshire County Verginia (now WVA) where a John Mitchel surveyor appears in the records.
