"I met Earl at Bill McEachen's (Earl's brother). I was visiting Bill's wife, Myrtle, who was my cousin. Earl was working (thrashing). That was 1/2 to 1 mile from my house. I was 14 or 15. I remember Earl had a car and, every Saturday night, everyone went to town." - Stated by Hattie while being interviewed by Donna Lapointe, her granddaughter, for a family bible "Earl bought a new tractor in 1928 (and a one-way hauled behind the tractor). It was $1400. It was the first tractor on the farm. It was much better than the horses." - Stated by Hattie while being interviewed by Donna Lapointe, her granddaughter, for her family records.
