My line of BEST families comes from my wife Georgia Cheryl Best Tarbet. It begins in this country with John and Rebecca Best arrival aboard the ship Manchester from Rotterdam to Philadelphia in 1842. The Bests had been living in Hesse Darmstadt Germany, and had traveled overland to Rotterdam to travel to America.
The majority of this line of the Best family remained in Pennsylvania to the present day. There are several lines of Bests, both in the north east United States and in many other states with which no connection has been estabilished to my line.
