Two documents recorded in Madison Co KY - one in 1798 and the other 1811 - positively identifies the children of John Anderson (b.ca.1725-1795, and wife Anne Erwin/Irvine) who were heir at law of his father James Anderson b.ca.1690, of The Long Glade of North River of Shenandoa, Orange/Augusta Co VA, who left will when he died in Augusta Co in 1778. The first document was a division of property among heirs in 1798, 3 years after the death of their father. It names all of heirs and children of John Anderson b.ca.1725 - d.1795 KY. The second document, involving only some of the children gives a power of Attorney to Chapman Johnson of Augusta Co VA, to recover and sell for them 200 acres which had belonged to their Grandfather, James Anderson - this relationship explicitely stated in the document.
The information present here was developed by Mary Alice Farrell, and described in emails to the Tapestry Mailing list, March 2012. John executed a deed in 1793 not mentioning Anne, but stating there were no dower rights involved. This implies that Anne was deceased by 1793.
