WeRelate talk:Featured page nominations

Suggestion: open to all users [16 September 2013]

I would suggest the nomination process be opened to any user, not just those with Admin rights. We could remove the text on the page limiting nominations to Admins, and post information about the process on the Watercooler. I'm sure we would generate more nominations this way and it would be more inclusive of our users. --Jennifer (JBS66) 08:31, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

I didn't realise it was only open to admins :) AndrewRT 13:58, 16 September 2013 (EDT)

Nominations [8 January 2016]

Jim, You've been "struggling valiantly", and all that to keep this going, and I imagine you're feeling frustrated. I have been watching for potential nominees, but most of what I see is just data entry (and often minimal data at that). Sometimes American Revolutionary Veterans has a good page, but haven't seen anything there recently. I could give you a list of some of my pages that might be useful, if you want, but don't want to be pushy about it. And will continue to see what else I can find. --GayelKnott 21:14, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

Person pages only ? [26 February 2016]

Are Featured pages only open to Person pages ? I've found a Place page that goes beyond the "brief description" stage. --SkippyG 23:29, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

We need to promote any good pages I think, why not places as well? There is a page currently on the list that is not a person page so feel free to add a place yo the list. I am hoping that one day most pages will have some sort of Bio and we will be spoilt for choice, until then we are clutching at anything. Rhian 08:33, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

New Suggestion

Saw this suggestion (below) posted last month at the WeRelate:Suggestions Project Page and thought it would better be placed here for your review. --BobC 03:08, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Since I joined WeRelate 11 months ago, all the Featured Pages I have noticed (I could possibly have missed the odd one?) have been about men. It would be both helpful and interesting if women's pages got their share of the limelight. There must be some interesting women whose stories have been well presented. --Helen-HWMT 18:55, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Any and all suggestions are appreciated [23 March 2016]

Hello all, I haven't checked my watchlist for a while, have been busy on several projects, so I'm open to any and all suggestions (men or women), so feel free to add the suggestions and I'll keep putting them up every couple of weeks.... No slight intended towards the women, it just seems like there is more source documentation and records available on the pages posted. I'll make sure we get more "balance" as long as we get more nominations... "Project Pages" or other pages are also welcome as long as they add genealogical value and are unique in some way....

Thanks for the nominations, greatly appreciated :)

Best regards, Jim--Delijim 22:21, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
