- Particularly in the Person namespace, there are a large number of duplicate articles — articles that all refer to the same person.
- Person duplication can arise from automated page creation upon uploading GedCom files.
- The intent here is to engage WeRelate genealogists who have inadvertently created many duplicate Person pages (or other page types) to assist in cleanup of the duplicates.
Discussion
- I think that individually mailing the people would be good, but should follow the creation of some auto-generated page that lists users who would warrant contacting and which might provide some assistance in their acting on the duplications. --ceyockey 09:22, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
- This would be a temporary "high priority" item, would it not, until the duplication rate decreases substantially? Then it would become an on-going BAU activity, yes? --ceyockey 09:27, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
