Hi, Skipper, it's good to see you here! We've been out of touch for far too long. I suspect you stumbled across me through Google-ized references to some of the Red River folks I've been memorializing here at WeRelate? Or the Claibornes? My (second) wife is "old Louisiana," which is how I ended up down here after retiring from the Library, and also how I got involved with the Claibornes, among many other early families in this part of the world. They were, and are, a far-flung political dynasty with ties to an amazing number of other active families, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's a connection to the Wrights.

I've mined Six Months from Tennessee for my ongoing Red River Project here, but I've also got the George Wright memoirs and the reissue you did of Neville's book. I'd be very interested to see 47 Months when it's ready. I see you've reisued Strickland's thesis, too, but I have a photocopy of that from years ago. (When we built our current house about six years ago, we turned what was meant to be a fourth bedroom into a proper library, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves all around; one whole wall is genealogy & local history. And two shelves of that is North Texas sources.) --MikeTalk 07:31, 30 April 2013 (EDT)

Robert Hamilton- Red River [23 October 2018]

My 4th great grandfather is Robert S. Hamilton born 1786 in TN, died & buried in Clarksville, Red River, TX. He married to Elizabeth Bethea, moved to Red River County in 1833 with the Latimer family. His sister Jane was married to Latimer & their son Alber Latimer was one of the other delegates of Red River that also was a signer of the Texas Dec. of Independence. Some people say that the Signer Robert S Hamilton was born in Scotland and immigrated in 1807 with his 4 brothers. have you ran into the split in the road with this?--Cateb 01:01, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
